Program Modules
Paulsen Productions Inc. differentiates itself from its competitors in a number of ways including how we tailor and customize your programs.
The following list of program modules includes both core and elective modules available for any of our programs. In corporate programs, core modules are tailored and elective modules are customized, through an interview process that tailors every program to the corporate culture and unique needs of the client.
Core Modules
Personal Image – Individuals identify and assess their own image and how they would ideally like to be perceived. Each participant delivers an impromptu introduction on video, used as a benchmark to polish their physical skills, and then reviewed with an instructor.
Organization Image – The group defines the ideal organizational image, describing the way they wish to be seen by their customers and their competition. This image is then used as a benchmark against which presentations are compared over the course of the program.
Visual Impact – Tips, techniques, and tactics for effective use of visual support, regardless of the medium. Effective visual support increases your audience’s acceptance, interest, and retention of the information you are presenting.
PAVESM – Presenting from the Audience Viewpoint EffectivelySM is our copyrighted methodology for organizing and delivering a message focused entirely on the needs and interests of the audience. Participants learn and implement this process in the creation and delivery of a real topic they have chosen, which is delivered to their peers for critique.
Managing Questions and Answers – Managing a question and answer session effectively can be challenging. Each participant is coached to field routine and antagonistic questions from the audience to manage these challenges while maintaining composure and to close with a positive impression.
Elective Modules
Business Protocol – Business interactions and communication such as voice mail, email, and introductions, all have their own set of rules by which to abide. Here participants are given current practices when dealing with everyday business situations.
Facilitation Skills – There are techniques which allow you to preside effectively over a meeting or focus group. Differences between presenting and facilitating a discussion, along with methods for cultivating ideas, are learned and rehearsed.
Unexpected Issues – Even the most prepared can face challenging people or unforeseen problems. Handling these tough and challenging situations and issues, along with the techniques necessary to ensure a positive outcome, are discussed and role-played.
Presenting as a Team – Team presentations can be a disaster or a huge success. Working as a team and learning the responsibilities and actions of each team member are covered. Participants will prepare and deliver a team presentation to the group, using the techniques taught in this module.
Saying No Effectively – Management is a constantly evolving environment requiring a special set of skills to effectively handle difficult situations. Learn to empower others to accept and maintain responsibility and respect for peers and management, while finessing your way through your day.
Most Feared Questions – Participants are challenged with questions that a demanding or even hostile audience may pose. These Most Feared Questions are specific to the client’s industry and products, and are designed to better prepare staff to present a clear, consistent response to these questions, while remaining poised.
Probing for Success – Gathering complete and accurate information before one prepares a presentation is of utmost importance. Awareness of current issues and audience needs, along with competitive intelligence, gives you the advantage. Participants are given scenarios real to their environment and position to practice in front of the group.
Lectern Logic – Many executives use a lectern to deliver a presentation, and never move from behind it. During this module, participants focus on how to use the lectern effectively to their advantage, and how and when to move from behind it to become more connected to the audience.
Posture Your Premise – Your objective is to position a message in the minds of your audience, regardless of the questions and/or topic. Emphasis is placed upon keeping your position central to the interview. Specific skills will equip you with the tools necessary to convey the message in a manner that keeps the audience focused on that message.
Media Preparation – Facing the media on television, radio, or internet can be challenging! Participants are given tips and techniques to effectively answer all types of questions posed by members of the media, so that their answers and physical reactions come across in a confident and positive manner.
Teleprompter Techniques – Using a teleprompter can be intimidating. Physical skills are stressed, along with the mechanics of working with a teleprompter in conjunction with the presentation you will deliver, for maximum effectiveness.
